- qqlliisstt manages a qqmmaaiill mailing list.
-
- When qqlliisstt receives a message, it looks through the body
- of the message for commands. WWAARRNNIINNGG:: qqlliisstt looks for a
- command only at the beginning of a line. Exception: qqlliisstt
- also looks at SSuubbjjeecctt lines.
-
- qqlliisstt supports two commands. SSUUBBSSCCRRIIBBEE adds a new sub-
- scription to the mailing list; UUNNSSUUBBSSCCRRIIBBEE removes a sub-
- scription. qqlliisstt looks for the subscription address in
- the RReeppllyy--TToo, FFrroomm, or RReettuurrnn--PPaatthh fields in the message.
-
- qqlliisstt inserts an acknowledgment of each action it took,
- along with general help instructions, into the message.
- It then forwards the message to the subscription address,
- with a copy to _o_w_n_e_r.
-
- qqlliisstt's general help instructions identify _u_s_e_r_-_l_i_s_t_@_h_o_s_t
- as the address of the mailing list, _u_s_e_r_-_l_i_s_t_-_r_e_q_u_e_s_t_@_h_o_s_t
- as the address of qqlliisstt itself, and _o_w_n_e_r as the address
- of the mailing list owner. If _m_o_r_e_i_n_f_o is supplied, it is
- inserted into the middle of the instructions, surrounded
- by blank lines.
-
- qqlliisstt maintains its address list in ..qqmmaaiill--_l_i_s_t, so mail
- to _u_s_e_r_-_l_i_s_t will be forwarded to each subscription
- address. While qqlliisstt is editing ..qqmmaaiill--_l_i_s_t, it locks
- ..qqmmaaiill--_l_i_s_t_-_r_e_q_u_e_s_t. It uses ..qqtteemmpp--_l_i_s_t as a temporary
- file.
-
- Note that qqlliisstt only manipulates lines beginning with an
- ampersand; if you manually add an address without an
- ampersand, it cannot be removed by qqlliisstt.
-
- qqlliisstt automatically sets the execute bit on qqmmaaiill--_l_i_s_t, so
- qqmmaaiill--llooccaall will ignore any program or file instructions
- in qqmmaaiill--_l_i_s_t.
